I dont know maybe its just you, your very sensitive to cold temperature. My family and i used to live in temperate country and we love ice cream even its winter. Ice cream is an all time favorite in our household regardless of the season. More so now because we now live in a tropical country where the sun keeps on shinning (except of course during rainy days:), ice cream is definitely a refreshing dessert!

i guess you are right that may be i am sensitive to cold temperature but why does it happens only around my lips region not anywhere else? I am quite comfortable to go out in a cold climate, my body doesn't react strange to cold. Its just my mouth!

There is nothing really strange about this. Winter plus ice cream is a very cold combination. Your lips lose heat very quickly, which causes them to become painful and swollen (also reddened, I would imagine). The "burning" sensation is caused by the uncomfortable temperature receptors in your skin going wild with the sudden change. This also involves metal ions in your tissues (Calcium at least), osmosis and possibly the water anomaly (water dilates as it cools from 4 degrees Celsius to 0, and contracts when heating from 0 to 4) and even ice crystals. Why are you eating ice cream in winter?
