Maintain your computer free of spyware and viruses. These can very much slow the speed of your computer. Run these programs weekly to scan for problems. If you make use of the internet often, you may want to schedule every day scans when you are away from your pc. Norton and McAfee are both very much recommended, but will cost you. Windows provides Windows Defender for spyware for free. AVG is one of the most well-liked free anti-virus programs. Get what works best for you.

If you really wanted to Speed-up the performance of your PC then you need to upgrade your hardware. Replace your processor to a much faster processor. Put some additional memory and upgrade to a much faster video card. But if you don't have money to buy this new upgrades, then better yet follow those list that you mentions. And in addition you go to your Task Manager, you can press Control-Alt-Delete to go there, and remove those running programs that are not helpful to your usage. Be careful of ending those task because there are some important programs that are running in there that you may end, and it will cause you PC to shut down. Good Luck!

There are many tweak free programs. One of them is mentioned above ( ccleaner ) for me the best of the kind. With those programs you can avoid the risk to delete useful OS files and you can be sure that the program makes good work. Another think to increase performance of your PC (except hardware update) is to always have the last drivers for your hardware. And of course all the above that friends have written.

These are good steps to follow, as I've done them quite a number of times. My laptop has been working really well for me, and this has been my 8th year of using this laptop. Its really jet speed fast when I tried out the formula you posted. The life span of my computer has been increasing, and I suspect that such actions like you posted are responsible for it.
