What is the best text editor for php?

I use notepad++. Did you find any better software for coding php?

I've always used plain simple Notepad. Never really been into any of these "fancy" editors, where the syntax has been highlighted for you.

If u want to to serious and professional coding the best editor i have ever found is best for php is netbeans. the Zend framework is in bult here. it is free to get.just install JDK, and install netbeans. Yes I did. If you just want an editor, I will side with PHPEdit and they even give free educational licences. If you want RAD environment RADPHP from embarcadero is the way to go.

I always use editPlus for HTML and PHP coding, it's the only program my teacher installed on my school's computer which can color the code differently depends on it's command. So I got use to it and I use EditPlus all these days.

Notepad++ is awesome, I use it for just about everything. That said, I use Dreamweaver for all of my web development needs, mostly because it is top of the line as far as WYSISYG editors are concerned, and it was included in my tuition for school so that's what we learned there. Apanta is also a good program to use.
