Water, Water Everywhere and all the Streets did Shrink

It seems like every few days I hear and see on the TV that another water main has burst and a major intersection is flooded and shut down. They say it is no more than usual, just that more major intersections have been affected so that it seems worse than usual. I work at home so it really hasn't impacted me much since none have been particularly close by. I only encountered one on a Saturday morning when I was out doing my grocery shopping and it only restricted traffic for me a little since I was turning into a store before getting to the intersection that was shutdown. Some of them have caused major problems with long delays and the water having to be shut off for businesses and homes.

You may hear about that happening in many states, but that kind of main leak or burst is rare in NY. Whenever I drive on the major high ways heading down state to NYC, there are countless high way and road workers doing their repair assignments. Its very strange, but at 3AM in the morning I've seen construction workers repair over head bridge tunnels and even fix a fuse shock right next door for 12 hours into the night. There is such a thing called prevention, and the utilities companies here in NY are very careful about avoiding major valve or circuits from becoming damaged.
