Limewire was taken down due to copyright infringement, or in lay man's terms it's an illegal downloading site, piracy of music. It is not a site that you can really trust because files may carry viruses. Or sometimes, the file being shared is a virus itself, only in the guise of a music file.

I liked limewire, but I stopped using it. There were a lot of P2P softwares even before limewire. They just come and go. They are usually taken down because of the vast amount of viruses that people get from these P2P clients that people stop using them. Also, in this day and age, copyright infringement is active, that's why authorities take down the free downloads

I use to download many things using limewire but, we eventually got viruses from it and the same goes with other P2P file sharing programs. You really have to install a very reliable anti-virus program that can immediately detect infected files that you might get to download. When I want to download audio files, I would have to just go to a particular website and search there. Most probably, I do get them there or just search elsewhere and perhaps I can find what I am looking for (^_^ )
