Is exotic food only for guests?

This thought comes to my mind how so many will do up their home, put up new curtains or cook some exotic food only for guests. What about those who do not entertain and also live alone. Should they not decorate their salad even if it means eating alone?

I make my food look pretty for me. I don't have to have guests to eat a nice meal. There's a satisfaction in knowing that your meal was prepared beautifully.

Right! It's nice to do things for your self once in a while, like preparing a beautiful, tasty meal. It's good for practice, actually, because when you have guests over, you can arrange the meals the way you do for your self.

Well, if you really like the food, why don't you prepare for your consumption, because if you want it, then it's definitely for you. hehehe :D it's not just intended for guests, it's for everyone who likes and wants it. :D

@chuyins - I was just imagining about creating the words 'welcome' with bits of beetroot on my salad and eating it all by myself!
! At the same time there is also the saying 'charity begins at home' which includes pampering oneself I suppose!
@emgee.. It is not a comfortable feeling to pamper oneself by creating exotic dishes including decorating salads, etc for self consumption but as you said one needs to give some attention to oneself too.

Hi there! I think it is pretty cool to prepare special and exotic dishes for ourselves even if we are alone and even if we don't have guests to entertain. From time to time we should also set time to pamper ourselves. Giving special treatment to our guests is part of being hospitable and a good host feels great when the guests are happy and impressed, right? But enjoying the fine things in life and the stuff that makes us happy should not be enjoyed only when we are entertaining guests. We should also enjoy our favorite exotic stuff even when we are alone. First and foremost we have to enjoy our blessings and our favorite food/stuff by ourselves and sharing it with others would simply double the joy... :D Have a good day and happy mylotting!

It will take some time to realise that one should do up ones house for ones own sake, should prepare exotic food for ones own satisfaction and nowadays when entertaining at home is become scarce this thought needs to be created and fast too!This would particularly apply to those who are creative.

Thats an interesting thought cause every one thinks about something new in their but this only happens on an occasion so you cant cook something special or decorate your house everyday because it doesnt makes any sense, those who live alone find their ways to celebrate have something special...........

But one needs to taste exotic food though not everyday and there is this tendency to do it only when guests arrive but those who do not entertain guests at home will have to change their thinking about preparing exotic food only when guests are around!
