Many times, when I discover a wonderful AND easy recipe, I write it down on any papel (even on a paper napkin) and after a while it gets misplaced. Such had happened to my no yeast pizza dough recipe, one I specially cherish because it was my later grandson´s favorite pizza. He named the pizzas I made, but all started by the name Pizza de la abuela (grandma´s pizza). It was like a gold medal for quality. And then, one of those days, the recipe just wasn´t there anymore. Today I found it, saw it was SO easy that I might just make a big pizza and invite all my grandchildren to make up their part at their will. Of course I´ll call it Tomás´pizza. Do you have recipes that have a family story attached to it? Share! Finding that recipe made me very happy but telling you about it also put tears in my eyes.

Hi, Marguicha! I don't have such a story but it reminds me of my favourite grandmother. She was the best person I've ever known, I loved her so much. And she was a wonderful cooker too. I remember meals that nobody can make like her. By the way I hate yeast dough because I can't bake it properly. Why don't you share the recipe itself?

Hi fannitia, I like to cook nice things but like them easy so this is an easy recipe. As with many doughts, you put dry ongredients in one bowl and liquid in another them mix and put oil on a pan and to the oven for 25 min. I spread the dough with my fingers. Dry ingredients are: 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon pepper). Liquids are: 2 tablespons oil or butter, 2 eggyolks, 1/2 cup milk. After it´s cooked, you just put over it anything you want and to the oven again until the cheese melts. When the whole family camr over, I made 2 batches and spread it in the big oven tray. Noone caresif the pizza is round; they care about how it tastes.

That's a lovely story about Tomas' Pizza Margicha, thanks for sharing and thanks for your recipe too. I love pizza and I usually make my own using store bought little six inch pizza bases. It's just enough for one and in a pack of 10 or 12. Am I understanding correctly...you bake the dough by itself first for 25 minutes? Would it be possible to freeze it then?

I´m glad you liked Tomás´story. I tell here little stories about him once in a while and I feel I´m bringing back to life again. I have frozen several kinds of doughs before baking them. I do it with cookies for Christmas as I sometimes bake the cookies when grandchildren are present so that we can both mess up with the decorations. I have never baked and frozen a pizza but I would make the pizza, give it 5 minutes baking and the freeze it. Then you can take it out later, leave it some minutes at room temp while the oven heats and bake it. I would also try (with one pizza the first time) to do the other alternatives. I´m sure all can be eaten, but I don´t know which is the best one.

Grácias Abuelita! Thanks for the recipe. I may try it one day - perhaps with a little different ingredients - I often use spelled flour (harina de escanda) instead of ordinary wheat flour and I have to test coconut fat instead of oil as it is one of the few fats that can be heated without destroying the goodies in it.. I saved the recipe in my G-mail account with headline Pizza de Marguicha - and even the little emote was copied correctly! (I like G-mail) When I make the pizza, I am sure I will remember you and your family and if I have guests, I can tell them who gave the recipe! They might want it too!

Thanks buenavida! I like this recipe because of the no yeast thing. Yeast recipes usually take their time and I´m not one to be all day in the kitchen, much as I love to cook.

The pizza dough is easy to make. But I will have to make it only when there´s other people around. I have discovered lately that I amm a pre diabetic and a low carb meal is a must.
