People who smoke in public places......

As me and my friend was eating in a cafeteria, these foreigners [ they were a couple] were both smoking a cigarette; not minding the danger it can inflict on others.There were lots of people eating while they were smoking. Not only foreigners, but anyone- even my countrymen.
Why don't people try to think of others before doing something like this? I really hate it when people smoke in public places...

In my country there are places for smokers and places for nonsmokers. That seems fair in a country where smoking is legal. If the health authorities were so sure about how terrible smoking is (more than a war or world famine) why don´t they ban smoking altogether? I believe it is an economical reason and noone really cares about the health of the population.
As for they being foreigners, that´s beside the point. Don´t you think? Right and wrong don´t have a nationality

There are so many things that should be banned. I would like to have possesion of weapons banned. Many people would lose their jobs that way too. War is a good business.

That's what I wish to happen- smoking being banned... But i don't think it's likely to happen anytime soon because lots of people would lose their jobs.. About them being foreigners, it just so happened- they were the people in an eatery...yes, right and wrong doesn't really have a nationality- everyone does it.

Well i personal find it very stupid to smoke in public places that don't have smokers and non smokers and i think all must have but still .
Why do we need to take their poison , ok you want to throw your money and life we are fine but don't do it to us , go smoke in your home .

Hey Xansus... I'm a non smoker bu....t if you feel that bad why don't you stay at home? isolate your self from every day life! and oh please do not go for a walk in the park! that my poison you as well! just walk out off your front door and every poison that you can think of will assault you! I personally think smoke is not the best killer just look at what you have in your fridge, your pantry and you will find some very good killers there! and not to mention the air freshness,and the cleaning staff you use every day [ oh they are suppose to be environmentally friendly] but are they?...so I suggest next time you sit near a smoker you either run away[ or go and have some other pollution that suit you best] or just live in a plastic bubble [ which by the way] is plastic! so it's pollution any way!

I'm a smoker but i mind about other people. I usually move away from crowded places. I also look if there are kids around. I don't like them sniffing second hand smoke. Whenever i'm with friends, i'm the one who tells them to not smoke cuz there are people around.

Hello in my country smoking is banned in public places like cinema halls, railway platforms, trains, buses etc; but still i see people doing that, at times they are caught by police and fined..

Hi dear,
You are right. I am not a smoker and I feel irritated if someone do smoking nearby me. But here in our place, it recently smoking in public places has banned and punishable with fine. So, the trend has been changed considerably and even in hotels and some bars also it is banned. There are special zones where it is allowed and because of this is implemented, there are some relief for the common public. But I think the sale and use of the product has not decreased and the prices of the same also has increased almost more than double.
Those who are having the habit of smoking, never change their attitude and they will do it at any cost. We are helpless of it. Even though they are well aware of the consequences, they are not ready to quit the habit. What a coincidence!!!

yep. i hate it too. sometime, uhh many times i think, smoker have a low surrounding careness. maybe there are 2 solution about that, first we avoid it or prevent it by using any facilities that provide no smoking area or we should interfere to the smokers. yeah.. and i'm not a smoker ^_^

I guess it cannot be helped.One cannot avoid these kinds of people who are bothered only about satisfying their craving for smoking and do not care about others.They either do not realize or do not want to understand the dangers of passive smoking.I think only if the country's government imposes a strict ban on smoking in public places with a heavy fine for getting caught smoking, will there be a reduction in smoking in public places.

Well I don't like smokers.Smoking is harmful both to the smokers and people around them, and can cause lots of problems.As to smoking in public places,I strongly suggest that they not do that in these places.However, if there is no sign shows that smoking is prohibited,we have no right to stop them doing it.So make it a rule not to smoke in public places is the most important.

I think it is bad habit, and I also have seen people do it in public places. I wish I was a police to stop them. It is banned here to smoke in public places and now there are very rare chances that you will see people smoking here. You can see them in night time when they are at bus stand and waiting for the bus. There is no police and they enjoy smoking.

I agree. Just a hint of smoke sets me into a terrible cough which leads to me being sick if the exposure remains. Its very annoying. Here in the South U.S it seems almost everyone smokes out in the public. I've been forced to get up and leave indoor public places due to the smoke. I've never seen much difference in the "smoking" or "nonsmoking" at most places, as there's just a slotted wall or a few tables separating the two! Smoke travels ya know?
