I live in a small town near Batesville Arkansas. I have a beautiful female American pit bull dog.She is about 3 years old had a litter of puppies about 7 weeks ago and sold all but one. but back to the discussion at hand she has no mean bone in her body.but Batesville just past a band on the pitt bull bread. hoping it dose not come here. do you think the band of a breed helps protect peple or do you think like me that it is just a bad rap for a breed?

I just wrote two papers for my English 102 class on the whole pit bull controversy, and am about to start my 3rd and final. I can say through research that breed bans DO NOT work. 'Breed Specific Laws' are stupid and ineffective. I can't believe that they are still being passed in new places! I love pit bulls, I think they are beautiful animals. My sister has a pit bull, he's still a puppy (1 and a half) and he does get nippy with me sometimes, but it's in no way a MEAN attitude. It's a, "I'm almost in my 'terrible twos' and I want to misbehave!" lol

hi there! im a dog lover too and to tell you the truth, i'm scared of pit bulls. all my friends who owned this breed ended up getting bitten by their pets. i don't know what's wrong with them or if there's anything wrong... i think it depends on the owners. banning this breed is caused by people who engage in dog fights or irresponsible owners who just take their dogs for granted. my place doesn't have this ban thing yet but we had some incidents that involved this type of breed.
