Anticipating the hobbit

I was just reading some stuff about JRR Tolkien, and remembered the there is supposed to be a film of the Hobbit being created. I've check across the 'net, found out that there is already a film of that title, looks like a cartoon for kids from the 1970's. The one I'm actually waiting for is 'The Hobbit:part 1', which suggests there is a part 2 as well. Now I'm all for this kind of epic fantacy file, it's right up my street, but the hobbit is just one book, and not an exceptionally thick one either, just wondering how they're gonna spinn it out to two films. Anyway looks like filming is confirmed to start in February 2011, For release in 2012 (December in the US, no other info available right now) Looks like I'm in for a long wait, especially since the US always get these things months before us in the UK, don't know why. I think if they released it the same time all over the world it would cut down on illegal copies 'cos everybody gets access to it at the same time, ligitimately. Here looking forward to a two year wait......
