The Animatrix is a set of short animated films which form the pre-history for the file "The Matrix". Please do not confuse "animation" with "for kids", some of these film contain disturbing images depicting the escalating violence between man and machines. As an adult interested in the matrix films I would recommend watching these short films, they contain though provoking ideas and some superb animation. Makes for an interesting prequel - enjoy
