Would you Write on My Slambook? Is it Something non-Appreciable ?

Hi MyLotters, I am quite new here and during this short stay I have been quite lucky to have found a couple of really great friends. I have framed an opinion about them and want to know more about them (Personal grounds to build a better friendship) . On MyLot we communicate via discussions only. So today an Idea occurred to me - How about having a page for me (on my website) where in I can ask my friends to write or share their views and opinions about me and themselves. Nothing more. I found a slam book that we filled when we were kids and it was really nice reading that old bunch of pages. And I could feel wetness in my eyes just because a couple of those friends are now dead and those moments could never be brought back in any case. So I thought of this. But then many would consider this impolite or anything else. Please help me figure out this - How would they react to my request if et all I PM/IM them requesting to fill up a page of information on the Slambook Page? I dont need to do this if I risk losing any of my friends. Cheers, theSids.

Hi John, Thanks for letting me know your views. I knew some good friends of mine would have not objected to my wish. I would be on this and hope to send you the IM with the Link or my email ID so that we can share some great friendship. Cheers

Hi thesids! There was this small book I passed around for friends and teachers to pen before leaving elementary school years ago. Unfortunately, I have since lost that little 'autograph' book. But the joy it would bring me today, should it be found, would just be priceless. It's one great idea. You should just go ahead. Good luck!

Hey there Tomitomi I had nearly given up the idea of going for the webpage but now with some great friends turning to my call I am excited. I would be on the task and create the webpage soon on my blog. I have been using this webspace for my online work too at the moment and the blog has just one post that I did to keep the thing on. I feel that these small gifts from friends - the autograph book - are a real treasure when we start getting into the real world. They help you to connect to your past - good or bad - but those moments and those notes many a times help you grow better and look at things differently. I would surely go ahead with this and use a Wordpress Plugin to get the form that would email me your responses. Cheers, theSids.

i don't think there is anything bad to do whatever u feel..and also you should not expect that the other person will do or react the way you want...but if the person is good ..if u think that he/she is a nice person...they will reply to you in a very nice manner ...never hurting you...there is nothing bad in having good friends online or offline...

Hi eshaan, Thanks for sharing your views here. I dont want to lose friends in any case so I thought it would be better if I sought their opinion. Also putting up a web page with all those forms is hectic and now that I understand that only a few are willing or appreciating this idea, I think I would use email instead of creating a web page. You would respond I know that somewhere within my heart Cheers, theSids.
