What Is MyLot's Definition of a Blog Anyway

I decided to explore the blog section of MyLot, and I was left somewhat confused. I clicked on a link that I thought was going to be a blog about someone who was convicted of murdering a co ed. Naturally, I thought this blog was going to be the author's opinion of this news event, but no. When I clicked to read this blog, I got redirected to a Fox News site. So, my question is: what is MyLot's definition of a blog? Every other social site that I have been a member of that has a blog feature was for the member to create their own writings. I am left a little confused about this type of "blog" I thought I'd be able to not only view blogs written by other members, but also start writing my own blog here on MyLot. Is that not the case? xoxo Cyne

Hi CynergyDiva, I haven't been interested in myLot blogs until now. I've concentrated on being active in the area that brings money to my account. But the answer to your question is in the FAQs. http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq18.aspx Here's what myLot says about blogs: "A blog is a website created by an individual or group of individuals in which entries are made in a journal type format and are displayed by date from most recent going to the oldest. The creator of a blog is commonly known as the "blog author". Blogs are used to provide opinions or news on any subject the blog author is interested. Subjects can include topics such as cooking, sports, politics, local news, and many others. Most blogs combine written text, related images, and links to other related blogs or web pages, and other media related to its topics."

The definition you have provided here is exactly what my idea of blog is. However, what I have seen are not blog entries, but simply links to outside pages. That's why I'm asking what MyLot calls a blog. Or maybe it's not MyLot but the users themselves that don't seem to know what blogging is supposed to be. I don't know. xoxo Cyne

I have never visited any blog from myLot, so I don't really know what users write in their myLot blogs. But you can see in the FAQs that myLot has the right definition for a blog. If what you saw was different from the definition, maybe myLot admins will delete those entries, I don't know. Have you thought about starting your own blog in myLot?

I was thinking about it, but I decided not to after seeing the format and reading the faq's. I think I'll just stick to Blogger and Wordpress. Thanks xoxo Cyne
