With the arrival of Windows 7, and Apple's Snow Leopard OS X last year what do you think is the best system for your computer? The two main competitors seem to be Apple Vs. Microsoft, but where does Linux fit in? Is Linux even ready yet? What operating system do you use, and why?

i use linux because it's free of viruses and spyware , it's very crash resistant , it's free and yes it's quite ready .Try Ubuntu or Mandriva. I think you'll like it.

I use Windows operating system. I also have a Linux installed in my system. But what I honestly feel is Windows is a very good operating system. And the credit to make it user friendly till a point that anyone can must be given to it. Mac is damn good operating system but simply I can not afford having a mac-book and then buy other software for it. Where as though Linux a open-source and free. But its still complex. So i use Windows.

linux is for free and it is my first preference. windows you need bucks to get it, though it is user friendly not every one can effort it. mac is the build in pack with lot of build in features and cost more than windows, its for professionals who can get it.

I prefer using Windows and I currently have Windows XP on my desktop and Windows 7 on my laptop. I don't care which one but I love Windows. I am not a Mac person although I have Apple products like the nano, itouch and iphone (and I love them dearly) but not mac laptop/computers, they're confusing to use, not a lot of stuff are compatible and they're super expensive. As far as Linux goes, I don't even know what is a Linux product, it's not as popular.

I use windows 7 because almost every game and software works with and are compatible with windows. Also games and softwares for windows can be found everywhere for windows, ther is no need for to search for them. But windows are more vulnerable to viruses than linux,no viruses works on linux.Windows is a entertainment thing whereas linux is allwork thing.

Hi, I use windows XP currently and soon I am going to change to Windows 7. I am happy with windows because most of my technologies and most of my work can be done through windows.I have never tried and learned Linux. Heard it is not as user friendly as windows but I am not sure about it. I will be using XP for another 6-8 months and later I will shift to windows 7. i had a look at windows 7 and it is quite appealing. Happy browsing Calpro
