Hi Daren and welcome to myLot! It seems that your dog doesn't like the water. He surely had a bad experience with baths. You can either try to get him used with being inside of the water (as theDeranged told you before) or you can quit bathing him with the tub full of water, and use only the shower. I'd vote for the second variant, as it is more hygienic. When you are bathing him, make sure the water is neither too hot nor to cold, and keep the shampoo out of his eyes, not to make his bathing experience worse. You should also consider putting an anti-slip mat on the bottom of the tub, so that he won't slip during bath time (slippery surfaces make dogs feel unsecure).

Try putting it into the bath without any water. Once it calms down, give it lots of praise and treats, then let it leave. Make the bath not such a scary thing. Do this every day. Once the dog is calm in the bath, start adding a little bit of water, again praise and treat when the dog is calm. And make it short. Once the dog is calm with a tub full of water, bath it. After the bath, give lots of praise and treats. This may not be a fast process, but it is a lot better than fighting your dog for the rest of its life.

That's my problem too! My dog Bern is so hard to bath. I can't even drag him if he knows that I will clean him. Can you try to tie your dog before bathing. I haven't tried it to Bern, he nearly bite me.
