From what I've heard, mac are a lot better. I've only had mac. So, I can't really say from personal experience. But my dad has said that some of his colleagues have had PCs and didn't really like it. Personally, I do love my macs. I find that they're great, and work really well.

Hello joshjikolp, I am not sure where you got the theory about macs getting less viruses then PCs as it is not true. Macs are equally as exploitable as PCs. If you know what you are doing, you can strip down useless services in windows and configure it in a way that is very secure. I own a MAC and a PC, I use my PC for everything I do on a daily basis because it's more convenient and I do a lot of programming so many things are more compatible with Windows. On the other hand, for all of my music and video productions, that's where my MAC comes in for it's role. I love all the programs MAC provides for my video editing. It surpasses anything windows has in my opinion, I've tried many windows programs. The general consensus would be for you to get a PC unless you do music production or video editing, stuff along that nature. Kindest regards, fathom

I have only experience with PC laptops, so I can't say from my own experience. My daughter has a Mac and swears by it. Has told me several times to change to a Mac. Thing is I haven't been able to afford one. Mac's are also good for programs that do not work as well on PC's like graphical work. This I know because of my other daughter who went to school for this kind of study. The classes used Macs for that reason. It depends on what you plan on using the laptop for. Do research on what you would like it to do, compared to what is offered in each. Then you will see which is best for you.
