my tv got into repair, IC is it costly

week back i heard some noises when i played my tv for 5 min or so.. later picture used to go blur. i contacted a local technician he took opened tv and observed the same as above. he himself seemed to be confused. he said the picture tube was good and took the circuit board with him to check for problem. after 2 days he said that the IC of the circuit is not working properly and he changed it. then again he said the bass speaker system(BSS) might be a heavy load to IC and took BSS also. I think he will charge more. but I guess IC wont be costly. did any one have had same problem

No,I don't know what kind of tv you have. But, when I have a tv that breaks, which doesn't happen that often, I usually just throw it away. If this is just a traditional television you I would measure the cost of repair against buying another one, and go with the cheaper alternative. Goodwill even sells used tvs for cheap.
