iphone or android phone?

December 2, 2010 6:35pm CST
This Christmas I'm planning of buying for myself a gift. I have thought of buying a very nice phone but i'm confused on what to purchase between iphone or a android phone like Samsung galaxy or Xperia by Ericsson. I still don't know the pros and cons of these phones. Can anyone give me an idea on what to buy and some advantages of that item. Thanks a lot.

I have a Samsung Fascinate which is a Galaxy S phone, and it is a very nice phone. It has a touchscreen, a 1gigahertz processor, wifi, bluetooth, gps, and many other features. It has the Android OS and it is the first one that I have ever had or used. It does have the market where I can download and install apps like you can on the iphone. I think though that my Android has more apps than the iphone, but since I have never used or had the iphone, I really don't know. I do enjoy my phone and I am glad that I have bought it, and I highly recommend it. Take care, and have a very good day.

Thank you for this insight on the Samsung Galaxy. Yes, I have heard of this market for android applications however are those applications legit? I'm worried some applications could burn down your phone or add virus to it.

I do think they are legit, but I haven't put but just a few on my pone, and so far, I have not had any problems at all with viruses or anything else for that matter, and I hope I don't either. I got the apps from the market on my phone, so I really don't have any reason to believe they aren't legit.

zoeandrea I think even for iphone the app are created by programers so you might still get virus. Most of the things you buy or download from the market should be ok. The good thing about android is you are able to share I guess. rosekiss I think Galaxy is a good phone but the one to destory iPhone would be this one. http://blog.rightmobilephone.co.uk/htc-desire-z-review/

I prefer android phones because I can do more with android phones. I'm not a fan of apple to. Android phones has a lot of free apps, and upgrading it is free. Unlike for apple products, only minor updates are available. Major updates means a new gadget release and less support for the old products. I prefer Xperia over Galaxy, simply because of the manufacturer. Through experience, I found out that Samsung (SS) phones easily break, while Sony Ericsson (SE) phones have a longer life. Seriously. I had a slide (u700) SS phone a flip (w300i) and slide (w205) SE phone. The SS phone lasted for about a year, my flip SE phone is now 4 years old, had it repaired once, now ok. My slide SE is almost a year old now. All phones were constantly being dropped or banged against another object. The SS, not much cause it was my bf's phone so I took good care of it, but despite that, still went beserk on me. After repairs, it's still prone to being broken.

you should have a look at the desire Z not the HD. It has a query keyboard. I think it looks really cool too. look at this review here http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/htc-desire-z-717296/review

I'm thinking into looking into HTC desire or LG's Optimus. I'd love to buy the xperia x10 mini pro cause I want to have a tactile qwerty keyboard.

Hi there. Both has their pro and cons. tough call but here's the breakdown from my point of view. iPhone This is great. Lots of apps and many, many things you can d with it. If you have not use Apple products before, you would need a little time to get used to the functions. In terms of resolution, i bet iPhone 4 is the best out there. Speed is great too. The negative thing is you can't change the 'modules' and the style of the home screen much. Android This is something becoming hot very soon. The function and the phone is mostly on multitasking. If you want to multitask, Android is for you. This is something similiar to iphone but not many apps compared to iPhone. The negative part is that you will need to have those task buster apps as Android is just that good in multitasking which will kill your battery faster than anything! What I can suggest you is, go to the shop and check both out. Take your time to play the phone for a while and whatever your heart tell you, that is correct!

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S while my wife uses IPhone4. The only issue that I'm having on galaxy is the response is too slow, meaning if I open an application it's taking 2 seconds or more to open the applications unlike IPhone. When you open the application the response is quite better than android phones.

my opinion, iPhone : I think it is a simple phone suitable for those want a phone that has decide everything for them. Andriod : More variety, and choices. Allows users to explore more of the power of the phone. I believe for the business user they should choose either Android or Blackberry.

I really want to get an iPhone 4 but I decided to forget about it for awhile. Why? Money issues.
