What is your priority while you surf? Is there a software that provides all three protections? which is the best in the business? Is it worth investing in an antivirus or should we go for the freewares? I have been with avast for last 2 yrs and my experience has been quite satisfactory..i have been attacked by malware once, but got rid of it later... whats your say?

For me, surfing the web safely is one of my top online priorities. I'd hate to get a virus, as I keep all of my work files on my hard drive, and them getting lost or deleted would probably cost me my job. Like yourself, I chose Avast Anti Virus, and have had it for several years now. However, I still download quite a few files from the internet, and so, for extra security I also have CrapCleaner (CCleaner) and McAffee security suite, which I got for free with the purchase of my home computer.

well it's 100% best to invest in total security suite ( antivirus, antispyware, anti malware and firewall) .. otherwise why should IT industry spending lots of money behind security? and if you are doing professional business I suggest you go for Symantec, Mcafee, Kaspersky or Quick Heal.. one of these product with complete suite.. which lead your system more secure and reliable too..

If you are ready to invest Kaspersky is the best available . But I am using the AVG antivirus 2011 free version and it is simply THE BEST out there which requires no investment . It offers all the protection I need . I have the common sense not to visit suspicious links , reply to spam mails , download from unknown sites etc , so a free antivirus is just fine for me . In addition to AVG , I use the IOBit Security 360 free version which also works fine and helps to keep all spyware and malware at a check . This AntiVirus-AntiSpyware combo is the best free combo and i would surely recommend this to anyone . Also both those update within seconds and are very light , hardly impacting my system usage .

Hey, good question, if you are willing to invest into a software, the best available right now is Sunbelt Vipre Anti virus, they are excellent and exceptional in the antivirus/malware industry. Sunbelt has been crushing the competition, all their engines are made from scratch, brand new technology used. Go check out reviews, you will see that Vipre surpasses all right now. In additon, the company I work for has over 500 employees and all the credit card systems are hooked to computers, they trust Sunbelt to provide the proper protection. If you are looking for something Free, I would suggest Avira Anti-Virus. They are also very good for a free product, or Comodo firewall/anti virus are also free and good. Good luck and I hope I helped you make a decision.
