Teenagers these days are getting much enthusiastic in spending money than saving. You may see a lot of teenagers wasting their time and money for short security. Where do you usually see the teenagers of new era? Where do you think the expenditures of teenagers go? 1. internet cafe 2. happy hours on weekend 3. drinking with friends 4. dating expenses 5. apparels and accessories you can add more!

Well in my personal opinion, many teenagers lighten their wallets by spending on EDUCATION and i mean POINTLESS education. These people borrow a large sum of money as student loans and end up either by not graduating or not getting a job. Then they are in a financially worse condition than before as they have a loan to pay off and some of them even end up being paupers. There are the others who do graduate and get a their jobs but they will take a long time, sometimes even years, to payoff that loan and it can have a very excruciating impact on their financial life. While i do agree that there are success stories where people become successful after graduating as a person requires a degree to get employed in big companies, but i am saying that contrary to the popular perception, college education in No MEANS does guarantee definite success.

Are you working now? I think you could say those opinions from your own experience but I would say it's not applicable to all. Yes you made your way to where you are now because you worked hard for it. Education from the institution helps us to prepare ourselves from the real life challenge but it's not a guarantee that you will get what you like because you're a degree holder. NOPE! Success is education + hardwork. Education is never a pointless course because every little thing we do has it's purpose.

Well no i am still a student and have my own business, but i am talking about many of my friends and their older siblings who have suffered this fate. You have missed the point, education and degree have a very subtle difference but nevertheless have one as education is the knowledge that you acquire in order for you to survive in this world ie it can be how to run a business to have to act around people to plain trivia.Degrees are just a branch of education. There are many success stories of people who rise from rags to riches without even a high school degree. I am not saying that degrees are completely worthless, but i am saying that people should get over that delusion that a degree will automatically get them an income stream regardless of the condition. This makes people take impulsive actions and many teenagers take out loans, sometimes with a high rate of interest and blindly spend in the college thinking they will inevitably get a job, as some of them wont as there are many factors that decide that. Having said that whats the point of getting a degree from an ivy league college and end up pumping gas at the gas station because of the recession or shortage of jobs? they will be in a worse shape as they will have to pay the loan. So my conclusion to the topic is that it all depends on your personality and your attitude towards your life and the world.

I wonder about that too since I always see a bunch of teenagers hanging out at the mall all the time. And I see them spend money on some crazy things. Makes me think about my own teenage years and how different it was from a lot of the kids today. I wasn't given an allowance or anything like that by my parents so I had to earn money by working at odd jobs (this was before I was 16). Therefore I couldn't splurge and buy whatever I wanted. That's why I get kind of shocked when I see some of those kids spend $5 at those photo booths.

They didn't feel yet how hard to earn a cent these days. Maybe these students are from silver spoon families so they are used to it. But even though y0u (and me ) didn't have that kind of extravagant life at least we learned how to earn from our brows. Cheers!

I agree teenagers of present era spend more money on internet cafe, happy hours, drinking with friends, dating expenses, apparels and accessories. Buying gift to their friends. They dont even think of saving the money. They just want to spend whatever they get.

It's all of the above. teenagers enjoy a lot of activities now a days. It seems like a part of their circle. However, not all enjoy clubbing or drinking...it usually depends on their interests. They may also spend more time in investing with their skills and hobbies.
