I recently got in in our college varsity in the university I'm in. My role is a defender. And I don't even have a football background.. I guess I just passed the try outs because I had the physique and strength that they needed for a defender. I'm not kidding but I really have the heart to push myself to the limit to be a good soccer player. I'm 19 years of age and I'm wondering if it's already too late for me to be a good player? If it isn't still are there any drills there you have in mind or morning routines that can improve my skills? It will be greatly appreciated. :)

No. It is never too late. And with no football experiences, defender is a good position to start or being a goalkeeper. Being at the back will allow you to analize the game better. Here are some tips to be a good defender; 1. A good ability in reading the game. 2. Have a good build 3. Ready to commit and know when to make a challege 4. Other skill will come gradually as you play more often. My advice, just practise and train hard. Good luck.
