My sister has gestational diabetes. Do you have any recommendation (menu wise) on what she can or cannot eat? I tried looking on http://egestationaldiabetes.com, but I'm looking even more menu ideas.

I am a patient of gestational diabetics since last four years and from the very beginning I am under treatment. Besides diabetics I am also a patient of Thyroid and it has became my friend before another friend came to me. For menu the dietitian has made a menu chart for me. So, I think before asking here & there it would be better to consult a dietitian. He is the best option.

If your sister is overweight, then she ought to start by losing some weight: Diabetes is often a disease of the overweight. For remedy however, a very low cab (For example, a fourth to half a slice of bread), no sugar (may use pure dark honey, if a sweet tooth), high protein diet and frequent in-between high protein snacks would do the trick.
