Its a very catchy upbeat song from UK around 1979, I just heard it yesterday in a bus and the lyrics got stuck on my head and I searched it on the net. Then I found at what the song is all about. Its basically about a real life event. Its about a 16 year old girl have bad school social life... Her emotions taken over her....She gets her dad's gun and shot every person on her site at school. It is the first documented school shooting.
When the girl is ask why did she do such crime, she said "I dont like mondays"
what she said became an inspiration to this song...
without people knowwing the song is about a murderous girl.
the song sounds like a daily struggle of a teenager...
admit it we all hate monday..
The song is old but it sound so current. I never thought its from 1979 the first time I heard it.

Sorry did not quite get it, but are you referring to " Rainy Days on Mondays" by the Carpenters?Maybe a different song. Guess everybody has an interpretation of a song or something, maybe not the song itself but how they relate to it that triggers such an outrage. Different people will react differently to the same song depending on their experience and how they perceive and identify with it to it.

I relate to the song despite of the fact i never kill people in a rampage, because it kinda reminds me of my bad days in school and work. Its like most people do hate mondays because its the start of school week and work week.
the song reminds of times people have a bad day. its a fun song despite of its very dark origin.
