My PC turns on by itself

It happened a few times, every time I turn on my stabilizer (connected to my PC & the monitor) to switch on the monitor & connect it to my laptop, my PC turns on by itself. It doesn't turn off even when I push the power button for a long time (that should've turned in off, right?). Is this normal or is there something wrong with my PC? I don't use it pretty often coz I think my laptop works faster (it's an old PC), and I think the RAM is dead or slipped a bit. Can anyone help?

It's normal.. It's BIOS setting.. you check setting you reboot your system.. Press Del button from keyboard or F2 to enter into BIOS setting.. Go to power management. and check if it's wake up on power on something.. just disable it. so your system won't boot automatically. I suggest don't do any change in BIOS if you don't know about computer much.. as you ultimately going to start your system after power it on.

So, that's it. I think I'm gonna ask a friend who knows this to solve this problem for me. Thanks for the suggestion, now I know what to tell him when he asks what's wrong with my PC.

Hi luc, It happen when the BIOS has set the power management to "on" after ac power off. To disable it, press Delete button on startup, go to Power Management and turn "off" the power status. Your power button may have been disconnected from the mainboard. Check it out also.
