Have you seen Skyline? I watched it yesterday. I kept hearing how terrible it is so I was positively surprised. The effects were nice, it was never boring and it made me wonder what are these aliens all about and how will it end. I wasn't that bothered by a bad acting but the stupidity of the characters kinda ruined it for me. Why did they think aliens can't go near water? It's pretty logical they don't hover over water just because there are no people to pick up there. The effects look great at times but the movie has sort of videogame feel to it. for example the scene where the jet fighters fight against alien ships. The action is great, it looks nice and fluid but you can just see it's all fake CGI. Even in the 15 years old Independence Day, the scene with jet fighters and aliens looked much more realistic. And I have to say that the alien design is completely stolen from the PC game "Crysis" (2007). I'm adding a picture of one alien from Crysis so you can compare. Just don't take this movie seriously if you want to enjoy it. It isn't that bad. I'd give it 5/10

I haven't seen Skyline, but I'm glad to hear it isn't completely terrible! It looked like a big bugget Sci-Fi channel original movie to me, but I think stuff like that is fun. What bothers me in movies like that is if they waste lots of time on bad comedy or completely uninteresting plots, the way the Transformers movies do. I'd rather just watch a bunch of explosions and pointless action than something like that!

There's no comedy in skyline. If there's any, it's unintentional. But there's a lot of drama.

5 out of 10, that bad huh? I almost watch this one on cinema may be I'll just wait for the DVD release. No alien attacking earth movie can beat Independence Day, it is the best movie both story line and special effects.
