Why negative feedback???

I am using eBay for a very long time, and whenever I want to buy something I check sellers negative feedback to see why did he get one. Now the results are crazy, here are some comments: Someone bought and old Chinese flute, he gave a seller a negative feedback with this comment "Very old flute". I mean WHAT? He ordered OLD FLUTE! Someone bought some item and after 2 days he gives negative feedback and writes "I still didn't get the item" - Did he expect to get the item in 2 days :/ Some seller had a lot of items for sale, and someone buys 3 items, a day after that he gives negative feedback with comment "no discount for 3 items" ??? Seller didn't wrote nothing about discount if you buy more things! So do you think that people are mean and want to do harm to sellers, or are they simply idiots? :)

LOL. I believe they're simply idiots. I was laughing all the time while reading your post. It's freaking hilarious especially the person who ordered an 'old Chinese flute' and when he received it, he gave a negative feedback of 'very old flute'. I mean, what did he expect? A new one? LOL

What is more is that a negative comment that shoud not be there in the first place damages the reputation of the seller. Good thing that someone like you even go to the details as to why they got those commnents. Unfortunately other people do not go that far and just think that "if the seller has a negative feedback I will not buy from him.". Sad.

I agree, a lot of people just sees for example 6 negative feedback out of 200, and they don't want to buy, but perhaps there were just some idiots like mentioned before :/

the last time I checked, Ebay didn't allow seller to rate buyer this is OK for scammer seller but nt so good for honest seller idiotic or not, seller has no way of explaining themselves or rate the buyer back usually sellers can do this when they rate buyers now they lose the ability they can still report to Ebay but I tried that before with a dishonest buyer and I never got a result this buyer confirmed a purchase and then told me he didn't want it by default, I could ignore him, because it took 2 steps to purchase something, so he had the chance to cancel before confirming but I agreed to cancel his purchase, because he could rate me negative, while I couldn't rate him back that's why I'm saying, honest seller is not benefiting from this new system

Yeah I agree with you, the old system was way better, I as a seller don't even give feedback until buyer gets the item and gives me feedback :) that way I try to protect myself against idiots :) if he gives me negative feedback because of no reason, then I answer with negative feedback :)

Because of the new technological age, I guess there are more people who are able to use eBay and auction sites now compared before. I've been using eBay and auctions sites too. I started sometime before the year 2000 and I remember the good old days when most users were professional in dealing with each other. If those who are new to these sites did not have the same experience as we do, they I guess they know less about etiquette and how things go about.

I am going to go with idiots. i wish there was a way to defend yourself against the negative feedback, or some recourse with ebay itself. The only time i have given negative feed back when the item was listed as new condition, and was missing parts.

Guess that's human nature, anybody planning to go on business must always be ready to face negative human nature and face the fact that you cannot no matter how you try please every body. These are just a few of the types 1) the jealous, they become jealous if they see you are making profit instead of improving themselves 2) Fault finders, they are hard if not impossible to please, nothing seems to be right with them 3)those with other problems and see you as a good substitute to vent their anger 4)plain old dumb , stupid, ignorant or an idiot. So these are just some of the reasons why good sellers get a negative , oh I forgot to mention circumstances beyond your control like lost packages and damaged wares.
