How to hide an IP addres

Do you know any working program which is able to hide my IP addres and show other, ex. from US.
Maybe you know any other way to hide it.
I'll be grateful for each answer.
Oh, I have tired to change a proxy in a Mozilla FireFox, but I'd like something else.

Im not a big fan of hiding IP or any such thing.
But it is true gives you great secuirty and privacy.
