Can somebody share a prayer your parents taught you when you were a kid? I can't seem to remember any...My parents always told me to pray from your heart and never taught me to memorize any prayers. I'm just curious! :)

Thank you lord for another day, The chance to learn, the chance to play. Now as I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Please, guard me Jesus through the night, And keep me safe till mornings light. But if should I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. And should I live for other days, I pray that God will guide my ways. Amen This is the one I use with my child. She is too young to recite it with me, but it is part of the bedtime routine.

As a child we said a similar one at home, i couldn't remember the exact words, so i looked them up about a year ago.

I heard a child recite this once but I couldn't remember when and where...Do you mind if I write this down?

Mine is similar to asyria, just shorter. It's a bedtime prayer. Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the my soul to take. Another one is... Angel of God, my guardian dear, To whom God's love commits us here. Ever this day be at our side, To light and guide, to rule and guard. Amen.

I'm sorry, I missed a word in the first prayer. The last line is supposed to be... I pray the Lord my soul to take.
