What piece of hardware will be more useful?

Well I think its time that I should get some new parts for my PC. I have a old 2.33 Ghz intel duo, and only 2 gigs of ddr2 RAM.I want to add 2 gigs of RAM(unbuffered) or change my CPU to a quad core, holding out on the graphics card for now. Which choice will give better peformance?
