I am tired of fixing the same old thing. I would like some new ideas of good dishes that your family has ate up. Even the most picky eaters love it. I am so sick of the food rut I am in. If my kids had their way they would have tacos, hot dogs and corn dogs every day of the week. I don't make tacos once a week and the rest every so often. However Im tired of my other goto foods as well. Spaghetti, sloppy joes, etc... Something where the meat and veggies are separate from the grains would be best as I am also lowcarbing. Thanks for any ideas. :)

chicken, cabbage - chicken, cabbage
Hello, tonight i won't cook, because we are invited to be guests of a friend, who will prepare diner. So great for me, because i'm our of ideas too, if i had to cook today it would be chicken soup may be, because i haven't done before, since i live with my boyfriend and cook alone from 6 months now. What i did soon is potatoes with melted cheese and black pepper. If you want meat with something, i would suggest you white beans with pork in the oven. Or chicken with cabbage in the oven? I did it two days ago and it was delicious.

I have never thought to pair chicken and cabbage together. That sounds really good! Im not much of a bean person, but I do love ham and beans in the crockpot.

What is good to eat tonight....as has been said are the most important meal of the morning and I could not eat morning but little by little I learned to eat that evening and I can say is I do not eat in the morning and noon...and between meals eat fruit, you get tired easily at night with only a yogurt or something easy but until 19 hours after which you can also drink unsweetened tea.

Some of our family favourites are turkey and dumplings(ground turkey, green beans and basically matzo balls. It's a lot more delicious than it sounds), italian sausage with yellow rice, and soup. For the soup, we throw in any left over meats and veggies and it usually turns out pretty good. My absolute favourite is curry rice. You can buy good curry roux mix at some grocery stores, but if you go to an asian foods market there's a big selection.

I'm in the process of putting together some chicken and dumplings at this very moment. Just pulled the cooked chicken off of the bones. I will make what is called in the southern US, 'slick dumplings'. These are not the big, puffy dumplings that are made with Bisquick but the rolled-out-dough type. I've been trying to find the best recipe for this type of dumpling and have been doing the research online. I think I've finally found one from a cooking forum. This entree will be enough to make a meal for myself and my older next door neighbor and there will probably be no leftovers. We love this stuff! It doesn't take long to make. I spend about the same amount of time on spaghetti and meat sauce. Another good go-to meal is sauteed ground beef with onions and garlic served over some kind of pasta or even some rice. I like the jasmine rice more than the regular starchy long grain stuff. You can search online for 'what's for dinner?' and probably come up with several good ideas.
