whenever there is some work to be done or something to be achieved we set some target or goal and try to reach it.For some people targets are fixed by others like in jobs. For mamy either in personal life or in their field of work it is upto to them to set some goal or some target and try their best to reach it. I have come across people who set high targets or goals and struggle much to achieve their goals. Some of such people reach the goals and many fail for various reasons. Those who reach their goals are naturally happy but those fail get disappointed and feel unhappy. Some do not set any goals at all and therefore there is no question of happiness or unhappiness for the. I belong to that category. What about you..?

I have a high goal. I want to earn 5000$ per month. Not always. At least for one year. This is not just a wish. my problems push me to have such a high goal. Actually At the moment I am far away to reach my goal. I have faced a lot of failures, but my problems will not allow me to get frustrated and sit. Whether success or failure I should try till the success.

Mylot is a wonderful place to get knowledge and good friends. Through mylot we are able to learn about many money earning sites. I have a blot. If I work hard I can earn from that. And I planed to invest money, which can make more money. To do that I must have much knowledge, which I am trying to gather at the moment.

There is nothing wrong in setting high goals but the problem is that we get disappointed when we fail to reach it.May be your goal is achievable depending upon various factors like opportunity and hard work and luck.I feel that you may not be able to reach your goal if you confine yourself to mylot.Anyway all the best..

Usually I don't have a target in my personal life, but if sometimes I do have something to achieve,I would set two targets for myself,i.e.at best I will......and at least I have to ......Then I will try my best to achieve the high target,if I can't achieve it but the other one,I won't be disappointed either.

Therefore you set two targets ..one achievable and another high.It is good that you don't get disappointed when you fail to achieve the high target and feel happy at reaching achievable target.Really a very good attitude in life..

Wow, I think we had the same thought today. I also asked about setting goals today. I have both written and mental goals, mostly the latter. I think that they help me to focus and to drive forward. Sometimes I get sidetracked, but I always find my way back. After all, our thoughts are powerfu

No doubt it is good to set goals and that boosts our activity and gives a raise our new hopes.Without goals life is dull but setting high goals is very ambitious plan but if we fail to reach we get disappointed.I feel some achievable goals should be set and we should do our best to reach them and then there is satisfaction and happiness...

I do set high goals but I also make sure that it is doable. Setting high goals makes you work hard and strive more. It is different for every people. Goal setting really depends on the person on how much he'she is willing to work to fulfill it.

Yes you are correct.Unless one is serious and confident of his or her capacities there is no point in setting high goals.Hard work only helps to realise your high foal.At the same time you should not get doisappointed if you fail to reach it.Luck and perseverence are also necessary to achive high goals.....

I fall into that catagory, along with you, of not setting goals. If I have a task at hand that I must finish I will do that. But long term goals can be disappointing if not accomplished, as you said. I will do what needs doing, and do my best. I do set high standards but that is not the same as setting goals. I believe that whatever task is at hand should be done to the best of my ability. Good enough, is never good enough, if you know what I mean. I never want to do a mediocre job at anything, I will not do something and say "oh that's good enough" when with a little more effort I could do my best.
