So much attachment on things.

Hello myLotters, One of the spirit of Christmas that cannot be beaten is the act of giving. Though scarcity or crisis wrap our economic condition but still we could find solution in order to give presents to our love ones. One solution in mind is the unloading of unused things in the house or those things that we never made use in a year or even once or even just a decoration. How i wanted to unload it through selling with low price or giving it as a relief goods. But i hate this feeling of attachment to things that hold me from disposing. Sentimental values of a thing which made me hoard such rather than gave it to the least people who needed it the most. Concrete example: Closet full of dress, shoe rock seems like a foot ware corner, kitchen seems a store of kitchen wares. Realizing on we all pass here on earth and we couldn't bring any of them not a single piece. Are you a sentimental value practitioner? What is your opinion on this?

Dear, you're not sentimental. You're just grateful to the things that served you once. Let me tell you a story. When I was preparing for GRE I decided to buy a computer. I bought a new computer which invariably came along with a keyboard. Now this keyboard gave a lot to me. I learned touch typing in that keyboard. I wrote important dissertations with that. I chatted and made good friends with this old keyboard of mine. I played games when I was depressed and lonely. I was totally in love with this keyboard. But then nothing stays forever on this earth. So the keyboard finally had to retire. I still have the keyboard. There are so many things that it gave to me. It has been such a good friends in my need. It reminds me of so many good things. The very thought of giving it away seems difficult.

Hello Biswa, My apology for taking so long in replying your response. I almost forgot this topic anyway. There things in life that we felt sentimental value especially to the things that served as best and those things that came from a very special person. We want to keep them for life remembering the moments with the things when they are still new. Have a happy life!

I am one person who can easily let go of things. I give away things like clothes or whatever very easily. I do this anytime. I do not wait for Christmas to get rid of clothes I no longer wear. Sometimes I join my sister's garage sale and sell unused clothes at low, low price.

Hello cutie! You are one of the person i admire! For you can easily let go of your things bcoz in me it needs an occasion to release them though i have less but the situation is my house is so small so i must unload and in my community only rich people do rummage sale and i am just common. @scarface, hello! Sometimes we forgot the meaning of life and we focus on acquiring material things and dreaming for more things to come our hand. But in the end its just there with the dust. But what matter most is they gave us certain happiness in just a period of time. Just enjoy life till it last!
