As a student and also as a teacher I find it very important to review whatever works I am doing. For example, when I am submitting an essay report, I always check for its grammar and word's appropriateness. I typically ask my friends to review my work also. It gives me the chance to increase the knowledge I have. I believe that it also helps me improve my skills in writing. What else are the different of review it has given on you?

Reviewing helps to check grammar and also spelling of the words. I also feel it also helps in putting words in a proper paragraph. I agree it also improve skills in writing. It also helps what way it impacts you as a reader, if the language is abusive, it can be corrected.

hi ganeshprabhuk, I agree with you. When we are rushing so much on what we are doing, we sometimes tend to forget the spelling and grammar. Yesterday, a friend helped me with my work in English and I admit that it really benefited me a lot because I gain some idea on how to write an effective paragraph.

When it is school-related, I usually review them if I still have time. I don't want to pass assignments with corrections because I don't want to receive low grades. I said that "if I still have time" because I rush my assignments sometimes. If it happened that I wasn't able to take note of it in my planner, I would forget that we have an assignment/project.

hi mabeldaclan, Thanks for your response. I also do same every time that I have time to still review my assignment; However, if there are lots of assignments and lots of things to do, I just make sure that I written correctly my assignment so no need for more review.

Yes I do that. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and completeness if I do a good job and editing is part of it. I am also into teaching although in Sunday School only but still in there and in my real work we need to do editing before submitting the finished product so to speak.

hi starrose_ara, Thanks for responding. As of now, we don't have yet the Campus Journalism so I am not doing much paper editing. However, soon we know we will have that one. That is why I am always studying hard when it comes with grammar.

Review is pretty important for me in my job. I work in a company that helps those clients outside China to purchase what they want in the website of China. and We also need to send parcels to different everyday. Part of my work is to write the shipping address .I have to be very careful with that in order that nothing is wrong. I have to review what I write again and again.

hi tyler, It is very important to be careful when submitting papers especially if it is related with your work. I also do same when I am submitting forms. I practice to be very careful so to avoid mistakes.

ya... It helps a lot. When you yourself don't like your work, then it is sure others won't like it. Again some people are perfectionists. They are never satisfied with their works and in the end they can't complete their work. Reviewing your work with your friends is not a good method. They are most of the time biased and they think it will hurt you if they tell something wrong. But still it is a good thing to do. It reduces the amount of silly mistakes.

hi debs90, I love to pass my work with professionals because I think they are the best people who can review my work. I am in livemocha sites and I meet many English native speakers there. I like it when they review my work because I also learn from it. Most of the time, they give suggestions also so I can understand more what they are trying to teach me.

I always review my work before submitting them. For most paperworks, I check for grammar and the layout of the text. I would want my report to be presentable and has least amount of errors as possible. I also want the content to be in logical sequence so that it will be easily read by the person I'll submit the paperwork to. I agree that it helps us improve our writing skills because we get to edit our works and enhance our editing skills. We learn about grammatical errors and word usage.

I always always always review my work. Even when sending emails or other internet messages. Written words last forever. It is so very easy to transpose a letter or two and totally change the meaning of what is being sent.

I do give everything a good look over or two. Is it going to be perfect? Of course not. However making it readable to passable to good is something that I strive for all of the time. Even when I ask someone to review it, they won't catch everything. Ten different people will have ten varying lists of mistakes. Still at least I aim to make it passable. Trust me when I say my rough drafts are very rough.

As a writer and students, a review is a necessity and a great tool to find inconsistencies and to send a clear message across to my audience. I make it a habit to review not only the grammar side but the content and context as well. Although I write for a particular audience, I never know who will read that particular piece and I'm adamant to be as clear as possible. I often ask other people's opinion of my piece, especially if it is something that I'm not generally used to writing (for example, a genre that I don't usually do). But I agree with you that it does improve my writing skills and my comprehension skills.

Yes I review my work many times before I actually submit it. Whether its at home or in office I would make sure the go through various checklist. Apart while submitting assignments I do go through all the spelling, comma, hyphen etc. It is embarrassing in front of your boss pointing out some silly mistakes in your work.
