This December can be regarded as the coldest December of United Kingdom in this century. According to the weather analysis of BBC past hundred years record of cold weather can be broken. It is doubted that the temperature of the town of Orster may gone down to minus 17 and the village Altanahar in North Scotland to minus 18 degree celsius. In this Winter the whole Europe and the North America are experiencing very severe cold. I think the people of these two regions could not enjoy the Xmas like the previous years. I think the New Year's celebration will be like that.

I live in the United Kingdom. Yes, the weather this December has been the coldest I have experienced in years. In my local paper the police were expecting trouble during an evening that is usually very rough. Well the snow and miserable cold weather made few people venture out that evening. They were amazed not to have any incidents at all. The snow fell and stayed for all of Christmas and the weeks before. Today it is the 28th December and the snow has gone. Though it is still miserably cold. On New Year's Eve I will stay at home. More snow is likely between tomorrow and New Year's Day.

Well, the extreme weather is more prevailling in recent years. In summer,we experience the hottest days in the last 10 or 20 years. Then in winter,we are suffering coldest winter in 100 years. What is the wrong with our globle, should we learn something from all these signs?Beside the extreme cold, there are more and more earthquakes and eruptions of volcano, flood and drought. We thought we can conquer the nature. But actually we can't,we should respect the nature and overcome our greedy, only in such a way,can we leave a sustainable globle for our offsprings.

Hi aprilsong. the nature became hostile for us. We are liable for that. We are polluting the atmosphere. We are destructing trees, changing the flow of the rivers and warming the air in the name of industrialization. Now the nature is taking revenge. So we are facing unnatural weather.

Hello Bhanu, I have read about the snowfall in this place in today’s newspaper. According to the report many people are struck on their way due to the unexpected change of weather. In India too the northern part is shivering with cold and some parts have experienced snow fall and with a minus 6 degree temperature too. There won’t be any excitement in celebrations when affected with bad weather. Take care of yourself in bad weather. Happy New Year.

Hi Sreekala, We are experiencing too cold and too hot. Weather is changing. We the humans are responsible for this change. We are trying to control the nature and in return nature is taking revenge.

It is true that many will stay home and not travel in any way. But as shown by our crowded airports, in which many are spending their holidays, many hardy souls still venture forth. Happy New Years from the USA
