I have read in a post to one of my recent discussions that you get points for writing an answer at Y!answers. What does this mean? It is a similar site to Mylot? Can we earn money there? If somebody knows anything, please let me know.

These two sites are completely different. Yahoo Answers is a quesion and answer site with no monetary compensation. MyLot is a discussion site and we earn for our particpation in the discussions. If we just ask questions and give responses will will not be rewarded as highly as we will be if we discuss and further the topic here.

People are strange creatures Many want something for nothing right? Maybe because they have to DO something here to get something back, they are not interested

If it is fun and not taking you away from other more important things then why not? So many are on sites playing games or on other social sites having fun too but here we learn and earn as added bonuses!

Yes, you are right. And I am pretty sure that yahoo answers has a lot more members than Mylot, even though they don't get anything back for their time spent there. Many people play hours on facebook, make comments there and when you tell them that mylot will reward you for doing almost the same, they will laugh at you. I don't know why people think like that.

No directly, no - in the sense that Yahoo will not pay you for anything you post there, only reward you with points, ranks and so on, which are useless. However, if you have some links you want to promote, it's a good place to do so - for informational content, mostly. I write articles for a bit of extra cash, and every now and then I check on Yahoo and, when I find a person that asked a question related to any of my articles, I answer and put the link to the article there. Usually, the number of hits I receive spikes for three-four days. As with everything else online, just make sure you don't spam and the links are relevant to the question.

So you mean that we could get some impressions for our articles which we wrote at Triond? If yes, I will have to make a try.

No. Yahoo!Answer is just a feature of Yahoo! If you have Yahoo account, yahoo mail for example, you are able to log in to yahoo answer easily by using your yahoo mail easily. Yahoo answer is just question and answer place. Member can ask question and hope other members help out. There is only level position. Once you become member of Yahoo!Answer, you will get 100 points and you are in level 1. There are table of point for your activity in Yahoo!Answer. For example: make question you get -5 points. Choose the best answer for your question got 3 points, etc. If you have 250 points, your rank will be level 2. If you want make money from answering question, you may join answersland.com. In answersland.com, you will get paid $0.25 if your answer is chosen as the best answer. The payout is $5. However, I don't know whether it is scam or legit because I have not been paid yet.

It's harder ask our friends to join earning site if there is no will from their self. They mostly are not like me and you who have commitment deep in our heart to make some extra cash online. They are enjoy using internet just for fun instead of take an advantage from the availability of the internet.

I don't like those type of sites where you have to be chosen the first in order to get paid. I mean if you there are hundreds of answers, what are the chances to be chosen as the best? As for Yahoo Answers, I bet that they have much more members than Mylot does, despite the fact that they don't pay. I don't understand people at all. They laugh at others when they say about this money earning opportunities, and refuse to join, but play lots of facebook games and join many other forums which don't pay nothing.

Yes, it is a choice, but if they would decide to join, maybe they would be our referrals and we would benefit from them.

No, you do not earn any money using Yahoo answers. That's a question-answer forum where you can help others solve their doubts, or ask a question. But you do not earn money from doing that. The points you earn are just points, you won't get any money from them. But it's a good site to solve your doubts and help others.

Hi hardworkinggurl, You can use the points to ask your own questions. Pretty silly, actually I've found a lot of good uses for Yahoo Answers, but it's incredibly time consuming, I'm now trying to cut back on using that site.

Yes... when you ask anything you're using your points. And when you choose a best answer, you get some points back, but points are just for that, you can redeem nothing. I'm talking about Yahoo answers obviously.
