Bad habit of TV networks in my country

I never get to watch the endings of 4 anime titles that I followed in my childhood and teenhood because the Tv networks that airs them have the habit of doing this: If the anime is doing well but its close to the ending, They will replay it back to episode 1, why do they do that because kids and teens will watch the replay anyway despite of the frustration. It took me 10 years before I was able to finish Dragon Ball series. While I never get to see the endings of Time Travel Tondekiman, Raijin Oh,Patlabor, Macross, Saber marionnete and Battle ball. i tried finding final episodes of those titles but I cant find them:( Not even in Amazon.com or Torrents and anime streaming sites. I dont follow anime in TV anymore because TV networks ditched them for American Cartoons, Plus following them in Tv dont make sense cos Tv networks dont show their endings.

I agree with you. It really sucks when they just cut it, and then start back to the beginning again. It is really frustrating since I can't even find the ending on the internet. Even the pirated dvds don't have it. I don't remember how many times I have watched my favorite shows, but I still miss the ending.

20 years.. gosh. May I ask how Voltes V ended? I didn't get to see it yet. How about Daimos? Do you remember how it ended?

I never saw the endings of a lot of them because of that nasty habit of Tv networks. I remember the people who followed Voltest V in our country were able to see the ending after 20 years,

I think the problem with that is the whole licensing issue. Most of the times TV networks only acquire a certain amount of episodes for a show and so they can only run those. When they reach thee last episode they have they have to loop it around and start over. I guess it takes a while to get the rights for some of these shows and it can be a hassle to negotiate deals. That was one of the things I hated about watching anime on American TV too. It would get to a certain point in the show but then all the sudden it gets cut off and the show gets aired from the beginning again. It does that a few times before new episodes pop up. I got tired of waiting for the newer episodes so I eventually lost interest in some of the shows.

You can always watch them on the computer. Besides, English dubbing is pretty bad. You can never get the same expressions you could in another language....

Yeah not only anime, some foreign shows got cancelled in our country while they were still airing in America or wherever they came from. I was not even able to watch the endings of certain shows too. The super Sentai shows, Bioman is the only one I was able to finish.

Hi Captain, Yes, I regret that part too. It is the same technique these people apply here. I was having a craze for one by the name ALF for sometime a few years back (I always love the Tom And Jerry but that doesnt fall in as a soap of toons) but this one had a series of episodes from 1 onwards. Unfortunately I got to see the first 10-12 thrice but they never telecast the last / ending episodes.

I think American cartoons are usually stand alone when it comes to episodes so in a way there is no endings and it can comeback anytime but in case of anime. Its usually a continuous story. I was really pissed off that TV networks have the habit of lopping episodes instead of just ending the story.
