Those of us who were born in, live in, or just plain love New Jersey (or even those who drove through it once on the Turnpike) need to be more active in this interest category! New Jersey is a great place, full of wacky and wonderful discussion topics. After all, what other state has TWO "Weird NJ" books PLUS a full magazine subscription? So, calling all NJ friends, let's start posting some interesting topics about the Garden State. Here's an interesting fact to start us off: do you know which was the only U.S. President to have been born in NJ? Not Woodrow Wilson (he was the Governor). It's Grover Cleveland! (Hey, at least we have one). What interesting fact or piece of trivia can you share about NJ?

I've been to New Jersey a few times and I think it's really a beautiful place and shows like Jersey Shore really do the state a disservice. As for trivia, I know that it has the most dense highway system in the country and that North Jersey is the car theft capital of the world.

The good, the bad, and the ugly--all in one response! Yes, actually, despite our numerous highways and the industrial corridor, parts of NJ are stunning and it is a state worth visiting, for sure. Hope you come back this way again!

Darn, that makes me want to move, but it's so expensive! Luckily I started a home-based business (company not disclosed per discussion guidelines) and when I get to the top position, I'll move right back. Despite being the most people and highway-intensive state in these United States, it's a wonderful place! Heck, I was born off 155P!

See--cats and NJ--we have a lot in common! Lucy the Elephant has gotten a face-lift this past year and is still drawing big crowds. I brought my kids to see it this summer.

My aunt and her family are New Jersyans. That is why I have a New Jersey t-shirt. I think the snow is piling up right now. I do hope you keep warm and safe!

Yes, we have between 16-20 inches, depending on where you are. Our first snow of the year--and it was a big one! Make sure you wear your NJ T-shirt proudly!

Highest autism rate in the USA - was a statistic (born in Paterson, off Exit 155P)!

That statistic probably doesn't actually mean that living in NJ causes more people to develop autism than anywhere else in the country. It probably means that since we have such great health care here, it is more likely diagnosed properly here than in other states. Also, since we have the second-highest ranked school systems in the country (behind Massachusetts), we have a lot of school systems that have excellent programs for autistic children--one of the reasons that so many families with special needs children move here.
