I just wonder how many people here join those pen pal society, and write a letter to someone random anywhere around this Earth? I did try once to join those pen pal society, but after a several conversation, the talk just ended there. Either I am too busy to reply back to them, or they are not interest to continue on this pen pal relationship or conversation. Maybe after after several talks, we all might as well out of good topics. So, does anyone has a pen pal, and how do you maintain this relationship to have a good topic to talk about between the two of you?

I never had pen pals but I have written letters to family and friends before. I never did much sending out Christmas cards in the mail, beacuse when I went to work or church the person or family would be there to give too. I had met a guy online before and after chating we , talked about becoming pen pals. But I think sending email or messinging is the best choice in these days that we live in now. I would rather send eamil , then pay for stamps.

I have had a lot of penpals. When I was a teenager I had penpals from around the world and I loved writing and receiving letters. I even got the chance to meet some of my penpals, and that was fun Some of those friendships were quite short and stopped after a few letters, but sometimes we kept in touch for several years. We wrote about our daily lives, our countries etc and sometimes we exchanged presents or pictures. I was was always very excited when I found a letter from one of my penpals in the mail.

I had penpals when I was a kid. My daughter had one for many years as well. One of mine lived in Alaska and we mostly talked about the differences in our states. The other lived in Guam but in the early 70's we had some sort of squirmish with them and I never heard from her again. I was so sad!
