Why do people still try and do drugs knowing there deadly effects?

I guess this question might be a stupid question to some, and I mean no judgments or disrespect, I honestly just dont understand.
First off I've never done drugs, and I've never tried drugs I have no interest in them what so ever, in fact I fear drugs because I've heard and seen what they can do, I mean a lot of regular people and celebs have died because of the use of drugs and for a long time I've wondered why people still even bother to try them.
I'm not totally clueless I know peer pressure can play a role in the reasons why people do them, but for me no amount of peer pressure could make me want to do somthing that could kill me or make me an addict.
Why do you think people still do drugs knowing how deadly and addictive effects?

maybe my opinion sounds ridiculous, but for me personally the question is already very clear answer. Satan has made something that actually is obviously and very detrimental to us looks very beautiful and pleasant. And i believe it. try to see reality arraound of us

simple... it is because they had already addicted to it and can't stop their addictions... so even though that they know it is harmful for their body, they still do it... i pity those people because they can't get away from their addictions... take care and have a nice day...

I think there's enough people in the world that would just want to try everything in their lives, maybe not everything but you know, the things people usually want to do to prove they are cool or just things that alot of people do. Especially your high school years, people are very sensitive for outside opinions of other people of their age ( or a few years older), so they'll do alot to impress someone.
