Did you stay home or close to home for the holidays or did you travel? I stayed close to home. We celebrated w/my father @ our home and then went to my boyfriends parents home just 2 miles from us. We usually go up home to where i'm from too during the holidays. I am from an hour away from where i live now. But the weather was bad so i didnt go. I actually started to go up home, but i started sleeting & the temperature was dramatically falling so i turned around and went back home. What about you?

I didn't do a whole lot of traveling either, for Christmas my family got together where I'm from, its a 30 min drive from where I live now, so it wasn't a long drive and the weather was good, but cold. For New Year's I stayed around home, I didn't want to travel too far out, its too dangerous, there are too many crazy ppl out driving late at night. Our holidays were good tho, made new memories with family.

I'm glad that you were able to spend time with your family! I didnt travel over new years either, like you it's too dangerous in my opinion. There are too many people out partying making the roads unsafe to travel. Although there is many crazy people out every single day.

For Thanksgiving we made the trip to visit family and friends from where we are from about 3 hours away. For Christmas we stayed home to have a break. Hubby is over the road truck driver and has so little time home we wanted to just spend time together and with kids and save money. this year we just bought each other and kids gifts and we knew that if we said we were coming down our friends and family would have bought us and kids gifts which mean we would have to buy them and theirs something not to mention the gas and hotel cause we decided a few years ago it is better to stay in hotel rather than have family and friends fight over who we are staying with,( his mom normally wins lol) Not that I have a problem buying for everyone I love all my god kids and nieces and nephews but money is just too tight to buy for 20 kids then adults too!

Oh i totally understand that! I have a big family too! Tons of people to buy for & like you I dont mind doing it, but this year money was much tighter than previous years. We can thank our dwindling economy for that! lol Best wishes.
