Mylot blog.: how to make it popular?

I haven't had my blog now. I want to have my own blog .But I think if you cannot make others pay attention to your blog or make it popular. It is better to make good preparation fist before having a blog.Do you have your own blog ? How to make it popular, I really want to get some tips.
