My Dog really freaked me out last night.

Here's what happened, my brother got home at midnight and so my dog who is sleeping with me and my husband on our bedroom barks, he keeps on barking loudly that my husband got irritated and turned-off the lamp since we know that my dog is scared of the dark. When the light was off my dog turned silent so we resume our sleep, few hours later i felt the need to pee so i got up to go to the bathroom but my dog is on the door lying, thinking he will wake up when i approach (cause he usually are) i told him to move over but he did not move, i touch him and tried to pull but he still did not move so i panicked and woke my husband and he did the same and yet he still remained lying, my husband frantically pick him up and toss him slightly to bed and that's the only time he wakes up. Gosh he really scared us, i thought he had an attack or something and i realy panicked. Ever encounter that same thing with your dog?

Is your dog really old, our dog didn't do things like that till she started getting old. I could tell she did have nightmares and things like that so maybe your dog was having a dream and was acting it out like people talk in their sleep. That is pretty odd, but like I said when our dog started to get old she started doing strange things like not coming when we called her and just sitting still and having trouble getting up and stuff.

Wow, i never knew animals could be scared of the dark, unless it's a prey for some sort of predator. Anyways, that should have scared anyone. Your dog certainly hates darkness, but i guess not the type of being scared like us humans. No, i never had any such experiences coz i never had a dog, just one cat. And she liked to sleep alone on our sofa. In the mornings we would wake her up and she would purr. I would toss up the cat over my sleeping brother to wake him up. It was always the best way to wake him up, he is much lazier than i am for getting up early in the morning. My cousin had a dog and it keeps barks at us when he is eating or is sleepy. Very mean dog, shows no respect for guests who are staying for a few days. One day he bit my dad, and his hand was bleeding. I was so angry that i wanted to smack it with a log! Fortunately they stopped me, the dog was so aggressive and it understood my scolding him.

Hi Djmarion, well animals can be really freaky at times and my dogs are outside dogs so they can do some really strange stuff but if your dog is afraid of the dark maybe he was paralysed with fear and could not move. I am glad he is alright now though.
