Balsam pear is the fruit of balsam pear of the Gourd Family.Its latin name is Momordica charantia L.It contains charantin,5-HT and many species of amino acid.The charantin has an effect of lowering the blood sugar.Moreover It can cure stomach pain,fever with dysphoria,thirst,heat-stroke,etc.
