i just i had this thought in my mind when i saw the movie alien in tv.why they always represent a extra terrestrial life as a some terrible monster or some super powers. they also show them like they are more advanced in tech than us why they are casting us inferior to them. why cant a alien life be as similar as us?

Probably because it wouldn't look as interesting from Hollywood's point of view. Who would watch these movies if aliens were just like people? I suppose if aliens actually exist they might be similar to us and having reached a similar stage of development. Or their civilization might be less advanced, but I guess this idea doesn't have much fans among Hollywood producers either.

I agree. I haven't seen the movie, but the story seems to be more original, at least according to the IMDB synopsis.

Well, I think most people watch sci fi movies for the 'what ifs'. It's supposed to be different from our daily life; that's what makes it worth watching. I think the reason the aliens are always seen as monsters trying to destroy us or hunt us is a bit of self projection, or maybe fear. It's not exactly pleasant to think about, or even admit, but take a look at our history. When one group of people found another they thought to be inferior, what did they do? They conquered. What do we do with the animals we deem inferior? We hunt them. So maybe we naturally assume aliens will do the same when they find us and consider us inferior? I think it's just a case of humans casting human qualities on something that isn't supposed to be human at all. Who really knows how an alien would react to us? As for why they are always more advanced in technology than we are, I think that's pretty simple. We've only been able to send humans to the moon. If an alien race could travel from their planet who knows where all the way to ours, they have to have better tech!

I think there might be aliens in all stages. There might be the most advanced and the ones behind us for sure.

People mostly imagine of something better than our normal living. They always imagine robots in the future, animals that could talk, powerful aliens, and much more. It seems like people are seeking something new from the places where we cannot enter. Just like a haunted house. People would most likely to imagine that there are hosts inside that house because the interior of the house is still unrevealed to them. Just like with aliens. We couldn't live or stay there, and since it is also a planet with much different features compared to earth, we would likely to think that they may have extraordinary qualities.

SF movie provokes, speculation, test limits, in principle, such a movie is trying a description, based on scientific arguments, the imaginary phenomena - for example, when you need to explain extraterrestrial life forms, different languages are spoken on earth not , travel time and a series of futuristic technology items, including robots that deliberates, teleportation, etc.. Aliens do not exist, so it's just fiction. It's only a visionary and wild imagination, heroes, aliens, unsuspected strengths fantastic places, technology and futuristic adrenaline.
