what are the things you take care to decide a money making site may genuine ?

Hello every one,
I am new to mylot and this is my first posting, reached here during my search in internet for a genuine home based job offering website.I have some idea now got from different sites to decide a website may genuine or not they are,
1. I look for security they are providing to the members (from address bar, security certificate)
2.Search in google and read what the majority says.
3.Recently I started to look in myLot openion also.
So What are the main points you take care ?

I think your strategy is fine. But you should always invest in sites where there is sufficient communication between the admin and the customers (e.g. forum). Without a forum, it can be hard to tell if there are complaints and hard to see if it's a scam.
