My husband wats me to use Pine Sol everytime I mop the floor he says that it kills 99%of germs more than other household cleaners that you mop with, I can not stand the smell of that stuff at all!!!! I love to mop with Fabuloso or Mr. Clean because it has a nice and refreshing smell to it and it cleans too. What do you use to mop? And do you believe that thing about the Pine Sol killing more germs? And I also wanted to know does anyone have any ideas of what is the best air freshener that can rid the smell of cigareetes and cat liter?

Just saw this and thought I'd add it. An article in the January 2011 issue of Consumer Reports rates the cleaners. Pine-Sol rated an overall 48 (Good): very good for soil removal, fair for soap scum, good for no streaks. Since many posters mentioned Fabuloso, it rated an overall 56 (Good). FYI, the highest rated cleaners were Nature's Source, Ecover Natural, Seventh Generation Natural, and W (Walgreens). Also, there was a caveat regarding antibacterial ingredients: "Skip antibacterial ingredients. Antibacterial products might help create forms of bacteria that are harder to kill, and the government says they aren't better at preventing the spread of household germs."

I don't know that Pine Sol kills anymore germs than something like Lysol? I don't care for the price on most of the items. THough my hubby tried Fabuloso a few months ago and I'm hooked! Such a fabulous scent and the house smells awsome! Now if I could get the kids to pick up so I can mop more often *sigh* I make hubby smoke outside, though he pretty much refuses too in winter wich just get me so .... The cat box I leave in the basement, it's unfinished and other than laundry and storage we don't pass by it enough to worry out if it smells or not. *LOL* Though it does have it's regular cleaning schedule and scooping schedule to follow. I used to have it upstairs in the bathroom but our bathroom is soo tiny it's just too small and it turned into one big disaster. We also use regular clay litter nothing fancy.

We have discovered a line of products that work so well that we became distributors of them. I could send you a link to our website if you want. The products that we are referring to are very concentrated, so they are not inexpensive. A little bit goes a loooooong way.

If your husband prefers Pine-Sol, then let him use it when he mops the floor! I'm a firm believer in equality among the sexes.

OMG, I thought the pine sol was a Hispanic thing. , As I grew up my whole life with the stinky smell of it. I can not stand the smell of it either, so as an adult I do not use it. What I like to do is put a cap full of bleach in the mop water with what ever cleaner I use as I find it to take the bacterial small out of the air. They do sell fabreeze Mop and cleaner, so that might help too. Although I have not used it I think because it if from Fabreeze brand it may do the trick.
