In a book,I have read that if a gift is offered to somebody to do something unlawful for the offerer then the gift is considered as bribe.I also read a gift of less than $1 is not considered as bribe if it is offered to do unlawful work.Do you agree with this? What is your opinion?

When you offer something in exchange for something else, it is considered a bribe. It is not always unlawful to bribe someone. Sometimes, and in the good ol' days, there was such a thing as "bartering" which is still an exchange for goods and services. I hope my answer made enough sense. :)
