Hi Friends, My roommate had a friend (a few months back), who took his signature for opening an account. Later on my roommate had some issues with his friend, his friend who took my roommates signature was going to open an account which is used for brokers (People who bring customers to the company and are not employee of the company) in life insurance business. Unfortunately, my roommate had so much trust on his friend that he didn't check the bank name. Now, we are worried if that account can be misused on my roommates name. I need help regarding the following: 1. If you know, please mention the name of such account. 2. How can we search for this account and close it? 3. If you have any other suggestion, please share it. Thanks!

Your friend has to only worry if some backgroung check was done on him. Like verification of tel number, home address & further document ptotocopies with your friends signature on them. If this is not the case, your friend is safe, nothing to worry. Just a signature on an application form does not hold too much legal importance.

Actually, when I came to know about this problem, I was really tensed. However, later on we assessed the situation and took a few steps to "hopefully" avoid any problem. This problem seems to be sorted out now. Thanks a lot to you for encouraging response.

As far as I know, before you can open an account there are document needed to verify your identity, right? I guess you go straight to that life insurance company and report the case. next go to the bank where your friend has an account and report the case so they can blocked him and gave a photo of him to the insurance company and the bank.In that way both company are aware of his activity and they can easily track it.! Just try it maybe it will work.! But If it's on my case that's what I'm going to do.!
