I was chosen to be the Maid of Honor for my best friend's wedding and one of the tasks that I need to do is to organize her bridal shower. Honestly, I don't have any idea on where to start so any help would be appreciated. I am also wondering if there should be a theme of some sort for this. OMG!! I am in dire need of your help! Lol.

Hey friend! Bridal shower? When Gem aka Melba Gibson was about to get married, her best friend from DLSL arranged her bridal shower. She contacted Gem's friends from school, work, and her family as well. I was there and it was a simple but very fun gathering. You can rent a place and arrange for a bridal shower (just like Gem's) or you can do it in one of your friends' house. I think that's better. It's cheaper and you have more liberty unlike when you're in a hotel or restaurant. Then of course the food. If you're going to rent, you can order the food there. If at home, pot luck or catered food would be nice. Of course you have to ask for contribution from all those coming so you must have them confirm their attendance. The contribution will shoulder the food, place, etc. We had some games too. We also had a part where we shared stories about Gem. Haha imagine that! You can have a theme if you want to make it more fun. We didn't have a theme with Gem's. But I think having a themed party would be so much fun. You can dress up like bimbos. Lol! Kidding... Of course you can ask the guests to bring gifts. I think that's tradition in all bridal showers. The last part was a surprise appearance of macho dancer. Haha! Yep... Gem's best friend hired a call boy (I don't know where she got him) and he danced naked (literally without anything) and danced in front of all of us. Individually. Haha! After that, there's more chitchat and story telling. We ended the night with a speech from the bride. It was fun. You can get ideas for the games in the internet. Just to avoid playing the cliche games. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more advice. Lol!

Oh my goodness, I haven't been to a bridal shower in years! Yes, I would go with a theme, and if you know what the wedding theme is then, I would keep it along with the lines of the wedding theme. Have some fun games planned, around five is a good number. Make sure to have prizes, and a bigger door prize for the bigger game. Usually small sandwiches are served...like those little mini-sandwiches, a cake, and some punch. Make sure you have someone taking down the names and addresses of the people that are giving gifts, so the bride can send them thank you notes or little cards for the present they gave.
