We are living in an era, which the Bible calls perilous times. It was foretold thousands of years ago by biblical writers and it is happening nowadays. Terrible calamities caused by unmatched human wickedness are happening in these last days of human race. There were strong earthquakes that claimed thousand of human lives, tsunamis that destroyed millions of properties, flash floods that killed so many people and many others that happened recently, which are all beyond human control. All of this are indications of GOD'S wrath and punishment for men's wickedness.

Your title and following comments don't actually match! So I will answer the question in your title. The Bible is in my opinion a very, very good story book. And I mean that with no disrespect. It shows how to live our lives by examples. I don't think we can take it literally by any means. However, the Revelations are quite spooky! Jesus told stories (parables) and taught to follow his example. Those who try to use the literal word of the Bible are extremists, as are those who take the Quran word for word.

Not just a good book. The Bible is the Word of God. Without the bible we can't be saved, that's why we need the bible.
